Gingerbread House Holiday Extravaganza: A Festive Family Event in New Albany |

Embrace the holiday spirit at the upcoming Gingerbread House Holiday Extravaganza hosted by the Floyd County Library in New Albany, Indiana.
This festive event is scheduled for Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the New Albany Central Library, located at 180 W Spring St.
Families are invited to kick off the holiday season with a special visit from Santa Claus and two of his reindeer.
Children will have the opportunity to build their own edible masterpieces using free gingerbread house kits provided by the library (one per child).
The event also features a variety of crafts, games, cookies, and other holiday surprises to delight attendees of all ages.
The Reindeer Meet & Greet will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, offering a unique chance for children to interact with these majestic animals.
This free event is open to the public, and no registration is required.
Furthermore, on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the library will host a "Polar Express Party & Santa Meet 'n Greet."
Attendees can enjoy snow cones, an indoor snowball fight, hot chocolate, and a visit with Santa Claus.
The event will also feature eight different train stations and fun crafts for all ages.
These events are part of the library's commitment to providing engaging and festive activities for the community during the holiday season.
