Hot Tamale Festival Heats Up New Albany This September

A Spicy Celebration of Culture, Cuisine, and Community

New Albany is set to sizzle as the inaugural Hot Tamale Festival arrives on Saturday, September 27, 2025.

 

This vibrant event promises a day brimming with flavor, music, and family-friendly activities.

 

Hosted by Samantha Hernandez of the HDZ Group, alongside co-host Sarah Flury from 1st Class Mortgage Group, the festival aims to celebrate the rich culinary traditions and diverse culture of Southern Indiana.

 

Attendees can look forward to a variety of attractions, including a tamale competition where local chefs will vie for the title of Best Tamale in Southern Indiana.

 

The festival will also feature over 100 vendors offering food, art, fashion, and small business goods.

 

Live music performances will span genres such as Norteños, corridos, R&B, and Spanish flow, ensuring a lively atmosphere throughout the day.

 

Additional highlights include folkloric dancing, a petting zoo, a mechanical bull, a cutest baby competition, local shopping opportunities, games, raffles, and ample photo opportunities.

 

The event will take place at the Floyd County Fairgrounds, located at 2818 Green Valley Rd, New Albany, IN 47150, from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

 

Admission is free, making it an accessible event for all community members.
