City Celebrates Achievements of Basketball Team, Coach, and Esteemed Physician |
Jeffersonville has proudly added three distinguished figures to its Home of Champions Wall at Big Four Station Park.
Mayor Mike Moore, alongside city officials, honored the 2025 Jeffersonville High School Boys’ Basketball Team, Coach Sherron Wilkerson, and the late Dr. Gordon Gutmann for their exceptional contributions to the community.
The 2025 State Champions
In March 2025, the Jeffersonville High School Boys’ Basketball Team clinched the state championship, marking only the second time in the school's history.
Under the leadership of Coach Wilkerson, the Red Devils triumphed over top-ranked Fishers High School with a thrilling 67-66 overtime victory.
The team concluded the season with an impressive 18-game winning streak and a 24-5 record.
Coach Sherron Wilkerson
Coach Wilkerson, a Jeffersonville native, achieved a rare feat by winning state titles both as a player in 1993 and as a coach in 2025.
His dedication to the sport and the community has left an indelible mark on Jeffersonville's athletic legacy.
Dr. Gordon Gutmann
Dr. Gutmann, a revered physician, served the Jeffersonville community for nearly four decades at Clark Memorial Hospital.
His commitment to medical excellence and community service continues to inspire residents.
