Light Up Charlestown 2025: A Festive Kickoff to the Holiday Season

Charlestown is set to sparkle as the annual Light Up Charlestown event returns on Friday, November 28, 2025, at Greenway Park.

 

The festivities commence at 5 p.m., featuring live performances and a variety of food trucks.

 

At 6 p.m., the ceremonial flipping of the light switch will illuminate the city, marking the official start of the Charlestown Christmas City season.

 

From that moment, Charlestown will glow with holiday lights and decorations at Greenway Park, the City Square, and the Family Activities Park.

 

**Performance Schedule at Doug Coyne Pavilion:**

 

Charlestown Elementary Choir – 5:00-5:25 p.m.

 

Dalton Hester – 5:30-5:45 p.m.

 

Eva Thompson and Jules White – 5:45-5:55 p.m.

 

Harrison Adams, honorary light switcher – 6:00 p.m.

 

**Greenway Park (400 Market Street):**

 

The city's central park will dazzle with Hallmark-worthy lights, including a majestic 55-foot tree.

 

Visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the paved park, passing along charming covered bridges.

 

Food trucks such as Mar Concessions, The Potato Station, and Donut NV will be on-site, along with park concessions.

 

**Family Activities Park (1000 Park Street):**

 

The Winter Holiday Market returns, featuring vendors selling holiday décor, gift items, and hand-made crafts.

 

Visitors can also enjoy rides on the Charlestown Express and play mini-golf in a festive environment.

 

Train rides are $8, and mini-golf is $5 per person for ages 2 and up.

 

Tickets are available on-site at the admission window.

 

The Depot will host live music with the Marshall Sanborn Band from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

 

The Depot Café will be serving signature coffee and tea options.

 

**City Square (Main and Main Cross Streets):**

 

The animated light show at the Charlestown City Square will take place nightly until January 1, from 6 to 10 p.m.

 

Tune in to 87.9 FM to hear the music synced to the light show.
