Led by the experienced Chillspice, this four-hour session is designed to guide participants through the entire sourdough process, from starter maintenance to baking a perfect loaf.

 

Participants will delve into essential techniques, including:

 

Sourdough Starter Maintenance: Learn the fundamentals of nurturing a healthy starter.

 

Fermentation and Proofing: Understand how these stages enhance flavor and texture.

 

Shaping and Scoring: Master the art of forming and decorating your dough.

 

Dough Strengthening: Discover methods to build dough tension during bulk fermentation.

 

To fully participate, attendees are encouraged to bring a digital food scale. If you don't have one, scales will be available for purchase at the class for $25.

 

For the baking session following the class, ensure you have high-quality parchment paper and a suitable baking vessel, such as a 6-quart or larger cast iron Dutch oven or an aluminum roaster pan.

 

During the workshop, enjoy sampling freshly baked sourdough bread and other delightful treats.
