Scottsburg celebrated its storied basketball tradition on September 6, 2025, by dedicating the revamped courts at Beechwood Park to the high school teams who brought state championship glory: the 1989 Warriorettes and the 2024 Warriors.

Fans, civic leaders, and alumni gathered in honor of the teams, underscoring the strong sense of community pride that defines Scottsburg. Mayor Terry Amick highlighted basketball’s lasting legacy for future generations.

The Warriorettes’ 1989 championship run remains a treasured local milestone, while the Warriors’ 2024 Class 3A title — the school’s first boys’ basketball crown — cements the city’s place in Indiana hoops history. Both championship rosters were celebrated for inspiring a new era of athletic achievement.

The dedication fits into wider community upgrades, including a $1.875 million infrastructure boost for the new Maple Run Estates and Conco, Inc.’s $71.4 million facility expansion, which is set to create 175 local jobs.

This event symbolizes Scottsburg’s ongoing progress while honoring the roots that continue to unite the city.
