New Washington State Bank is kicking off its annual food drive in partnership with the REACH! Food Program 4 Kids, running from November 10 to December 15.

Local families are invited to donate nonperishable foods such as canned goods, snacks, and dry cereals at any NWSB branch.

Every donation directly benefits children in Southern Indiana who depend on vital food assistance.

Since 2015, REACH! has worked tirelessly to deliver food to young people in need, growing its impact across the region.

Receiving a grant from Impact100 in 2024 has enabled the program to expand its outreach and support even more kids.

This collaboration highlights the commitment of NWSB and REACH! to tackling child hunger locally.

Residents are encouraged to join this meaningful cause and help ensure no child goes hungry.

White Flag Shelter in New Albany has reopened for the 2025–2026 winter season, offering crucial overnight refuge for residents facing freezing temperatures.

Operating nightly from November 15 to April 15, the shelter welcomes guests from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. whenever the forecast predicts temperatures below 35 degrees Fahrenheit.

Housed inside the gym at 4007 Grant Line Road within Culbertson Baptist Church, the shelter is a partnership between the Homeless Coalition of Southern Indiana and the Nomad Church Collective, which has taken over daily operations this year.

The collaboration enhances services while meeting rising demand, as more people seek warmth and safety this winter.

Community members are encouraged to volunteer; support is especially needed for tasks like meal preparation and laundry.

For shelter information, call (812) 913-5368, or use TARC public transit for access.

White Flag Shelter remains a vital lifeline, ensuring no one in New Albany has to endure the cold alone.
