White Flag Shelter will open tonight, December 11, at 7 PM as temperatures dip below 35 degrees, providing vital warmth for those in need.

 

The shelter will remain open nightly through December 15, offering ongoing support throughout this cold spell.

 

Operated by the Homeless Coalition of Southern Indiana and Nomad Church Collective, the shelter gives overnight refuge from 7 PM to 7 AM whenever the forecast predicts extreme cold.

 

From November 15 to April 15 each year, guests can find safety at 4007 Grant Line Road, inside Culbertson Baptist Church’s gym.

TARC buses offer easy transportation, ensuring everyone can access shelter during dangerous winter nights.

Each session, lasting about seven hours, is open to the public with a reservation and lets guests enjoy the artistry of one of America’s oldest family-run glass studios.

 

Guests are asked to arrive early to choose their palette; ornaments cool overnight and are ready for next-day pickup or can be shipped if needed.

 

This cherished event, set at 300 E Chestnut St., beautifully connects community members with Corydon’s art glass tradition, offering a memorable way to celebrate the season and create a one-of-a-kind holiday decoration.

This no-bake holiday dessert layers creamy spiced cheesecake filling with crushed gingerbread cookies for a festive treat that looks elegant but takes minutes to make!

Ingredients:

  • 1 package gingerbread cookies or gingersnaps, crushed
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • Optional: whipped cream, caramel drizzle, mini gingerbread cookies

Instructions:

  1. Beat the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
