White Flag Shelter will open tonight, December 11, at 7 PM as temperatures dip below 35 degrees, providing vital warmth for those in need.

The shelter will remain open nightly through December 15, offering ongoing support throughout this cold spell.

Operated by the Homeless Coalition of Southern Indiana and Nomad Church Collective, the shelter gives overnight refuge from 7 PM to 7 AM whenever the forecast predicts extreme cold.

From November 15 to April 15 each year, guests can find safety at 4007 Grant Line Road, inside Culbertson Baptist Church’s gym.

TARC buses offer easy transportation, ensuring everyone can access shelter during dangerous winter nights.

Zimmerman Art Glass in Corydon offers a hands-on holiday experience with its annual “Blow Your Own Ornament” event, returning for select dates in November and December 2025.

Kick off the holiday season with the Gingerbread House Holiday Extravaganza at the Floyd County Library in New Albany, Indiana.

Happening on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 180 W Spring St, this cheerful gathering brings Santa Claus and two reindeer for a magical morning.

Young visitors receive free gingerbread house kits to craft their own sweet creations, surrounded by holiday crafts, lively games, and tasty cookies to savor.

The popular Reindeer Meet & Greet lets children get up close with Santa’s reindeer.

No registration or fees are required—this event is open to everyone.

Other festivities include The Nutcracker: A Holiday Dance Adventure on December 6 and a Polar Express Party & Santa Meet 'n Greet on December 18, all filled with creative activities and holiday cheer.
